From the Summit

It’s finally Spring in NYC.

You can feel it the second you step outside and for most of our staff out of the subway and Metro North. The heavy coats are gone, the short sleeves are “back”, and Midtown is suddenly full of people with smiles and good vibes. Even lunch breaks turn into long walks through the city instead of hiding indoors in the office kitchen! I for one love taking a juice press and walk up Park Avenue.

For us at Red Summit, it means something else:

Outdoor production season is officially back.

I’ve been doing this for over 20 years in production, 16 years at RSP, and I still get a kick out of it. We’ve filmed on rooftops, in the middle of parks, on active construction sites, and along the East and West Side Riverfront. Every spring starts the same way: the days get longer, the light gets that "perfect" golden hue, and suddenly our freelancers love the extra hours for OT ;)

Honestly? We love to work. Period. But there is something about that first Spring shoot day that brings out the best in everyone.

A massive thank you to our Red Summit staff and the freelance crews who haul the gear and make the magic happen. After a long winter of studio shoots, cold outside filming and edits in NYC, it feels incredible to get back on the pavement with the cameras and a sunny mother nature.

Here’s to longer days, better light, and the best team in the business.

Thank you,

Mike Krentzman, Owner and EP

This month, we went to…

Meet Todd Ulman!

Todd Ulman is the CEO and creative force behind Mad Old Nut, a company dedicated to empowering creators through innovative technology. He began his career on the set of Friends and quickly rose to become an Associate Producer for Everwood at Warner Bros. He went on to produce shows like Greek on ABC Family and Haven on the SyFy channel, and has worked on numerous films including The Foot Fist Way and Observe and Report.

In addition to his production work, Todd is the CEO and founder of Maxlo, a high-performance storage and data management platform. A former systems administrator at MIT, Todd developed Maxlo to solve the complex collaboration challenges of modern film and TV production.

Todd joins RSP supporting our Post-Production team, where he brings deep expertise in networking, efficient workflows, and elevating projects to their highest potential.

Fun fact: Todd and RSP’s Executive Producer, Mike Krentzman, are both alumni of Fairfield Prep, making this a bit of a homecoming for the two of them.

We’re so excited to learn from him and have him as part of the team. Welcome, Todd!

Happy Clients & Crew

Enjoy some of our recent client and crew team behind the scenes photos!

Harrison and Cali were up in Medford last week at Tufts University, sitting down with Kwame Yeboah alongside Northeastern Professor, Bill Lancaster as part of a larger documentary we’re continuing later this month in Africa.

Kwame was on campus leading a series of masterclasses and a live performance, bringing students into the world of Highlife, not just as a genre, but as a living, evolving form of expression rooted in rhythm, collaboration, and culture. His work bridges traditional Ghanaian music with modern global performance in a way that feels both grounded and forward-looking. Kwame is one of those people where it quickly becomes more than an interview. It turns into a real conversation. The way he speaks about music, culture, and connection goes far beyond the surface.

Mike is heading out to Africa with Bill at the end of April to continue filming, and we’re so excited to keep sharing more as this project comes together.

From the jagged peaks of the Sawtooths to the barrel rolls of the North Shore, our post-production team is firing on all cylinders this month with Cache_Seven. Their Sawtooth, Hawaii, Smith Rock, and New Hampshire trips are all in the edit bay.

With Brent’s, C7’s resident adventurer, packed travel schedule, we’re working through a serious volume of iPhone BTS and field footage, weaving it all into an upcoming guide tutorial series.

Our team recently headed to Pittsfield, MA, where Cali and Harrison captured two powerful projects by Allegrone for Hearthway. These spaces are more than just buildings; they are a vital blueprint for how construction can directly impact local social services. We toured the brand-new, 28-permanent supportive housing building on West Housatonic Street. Designed with studio apartments for recently homeless individuals, which integrates beautiful living spaces with on-site community and social services to ensure residents have the support they need to thrive. Allegrone knocked this out of the park, and we’re excited to see it open its doors to the community.

We also got a glimpse of Zion Lutheran Church, which now houses 9 new studio apartments. This project also created a housing resource center in the church’s lower level. It was a privilege to document these projects and see first hand how Allegrone is building a stronger foundation for the Pittsfield community.

RSP Spotlight

Our Community Salutes

This month, our Executive Producer, Mike, was at NBC Comcast Headquarters in Philadelphia for a truly special event: the Future Enlisted Service Member Recognition Ceremony.

As a board member of Our Community Salutes (OCS), Mike has been deeply involved in the mission to honor high school seniors who have made the courageous decision to enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces. This ceremony, held in partnership with Hiring Our Heroes, bridges the gap in how we celebrate our graduates. While college-bound students often get a big send-off, OCS ensures these future service members receive that same level of community recognition and support before they head to basic training.

Seeing these students take their oath of enlistment is a powerful reminder of what true commitment and service look like. At Red Summit Productions, we are excited for this next generation of leaders and believe in the importance of showing up for the people who step up for us.

Congratulations to the class of 2026!
